Monsoon - what to eat?

What is best to eat during monsoon season?

As our digestive power and immunity is low at this time. It is a time when disease and discomfort can occur - skin rashes, digestive irritability, allergies and even some hair loss.

We should eat a light but nourishing diet, such as grains, ghee, some hot milk (cows milk if digested well, or plant based milk, with spices), cooked vegetables, soups, broths and lots of herbal and spiced teas.

We should avoid fried foods, raw or uncooked foods/ salads and unwashed vegetables.

Sip CCF tea between meals to keep digestive fire going. This tea also helps with bloating, indigestion, flatulence and helps to sooth any inflammation in the stomach or gut lining.

Recipe for CCF tea:

1/2 teaspoon of cumin, coriander and fennel seeds, boiled in 2 cups of water. Strain and enjoy.
